1.1 Governmental

Greek Ombudsman The Greek Ombudsman is a constitutionally sanctioned Independent Authority. The purpose of the Greek Ombudsman is to mediate between public administration and private individuals, for the purpose of to protecting citizens' rights , their ensuring compliance with the rule of law rights, observe the rule of law, and combating maladministration. In addition, the mission of the Greek Ombudsman includes protection and promotion of the rights o f the child .
National Commission For Human Rights. The National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) was founded by Law 2667/1998 in accordance with the Paris Principles and was inaugurated on 10 January 2000, when it was first convened by the Prime Minister, and its President and two Vice-Presidents were elected.

 

1.2 Non-governmental

Human Rights Defence Centre (KEPAD) The Human Rights Defence Centre (KEPAD) was established in 1998 as a non-governmental, non-profit, organization, by a group of people with expertise in human rights, with the aim to promote and protect these rights in Greece and in the wider region.
The objectives of the Centre include providing practical knowledge on human rights issues, raising awareness, training, mobilization for the improvement of the situation concerning the application of human rights. The Centre provides also assistance and protection to persons belonging to vulnerable social groups.
Amnesty international Amnesty International (AI) is a worldwide movement of people who campaign for internationally recognized human rights.
Antigone Antigone is an information centre for human rights, anti- racism and ant- violence.
The Citizens' Union "Paremnassi" The Citizens' Union PAREMVASSI is a non-profit citizens' association, which was founded in 1995. It is among the NGOs with the longest history in Greece having focused for the past 10 years its research and activities on citizens' rights. Since 1999 it publishes the quarterly review “Koinonia Politon” .
Greek Council For Refugees
Non profit, non governmental organization for the integration of immigrants and refugees.
Migrants in Greece “Migrants in Greece” is a national forum for immigrants.
Praksis “Praksis” is a non profit, non governmental association which was founded that implies programmes for development, social and medical support to immigrants, homeless, refugees and other minority groups.
Greek Helsinki Monitor & Minority Rights Group
GHM monitors, publishes and lobbies on human rights issues in Greece and, occasionally, in the Balkans.

Hellenic Culture Centre- Ifigenia Georgiadou The Hellenic Culture Centre - Ifigenia Georgiadou is a private language institution aiming to promote Greek language and culture within the framework of a multicultural society. Since 1995 the Centre has specialized in organizing Greek language courses for foreigners as well as cultural programmes of educational character.
Greek Ministry of Education & Religious Affairs The website of the Greek Ministry of education & religious affairs with information about the Greek educational system and about the foreign, multicultural and minority schools in Greece.
Institute for Language& Speech Processing  Department of Educational Technology The Department focuses on research and development of products and services in the field of Educational Technology, primarily related to language teaching combined with cultural education.
Intercultural Educational Centre Department of Primary Education University of Patras The School of Modern Greek Language has been functioning at the Intercultural Education Center at the Department of Education of the University of Patras and has offered since 1992 Modern Greek language courses for pupils, students, teachers and others, Greeks from abroad and foreigners from all over the world.
It aims at the teaching of the Modern Greek Language to foreigners and Greeks from abroad who:
• live permanently in Greece,
• are going to study in Greek Universities and in Higher Education Institutions,
• wish, through the Greek language, to familiarize themselves with the Greek language and the Greek culture.
General Secretariat of Greeks Abroad The General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad ("GGAE") was established in 1983. It is the Greek government body responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of policy regarding Diaspora Hellenes.
Board of European Students of Technology Board of European Students of Technology is a non profit student organisation. Run by students, working for students. Its purpose is to promote Europe among Europeans.

Greek School Network

The network in the service of Education. The Greek Schools' Network is the educational intranet of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, which interlinks all schools and provides basic and advanced telematics' services. Thus, it contributes to the creation of a new generation of educational communities, which takes advantage of the new Informatics' and Communication Technologies in the educational procedure.

The Education Research Centre of Greece The Education Research Centre of Greece is an independent institution which functions under the supervision of the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs and is funded by the Ministry.
The ERC has been located in Athens since its establishment in 1995. It designs, implements and supervises research projects assigned to it by the Ministry of Education or drawn at its own initiate following consideration of current social and educational issues. At the same time the Centre collaborates with national and international institutions on such matters as educational research and evaluation, participates in projects either conducted by international organizations such as the OECD, UNESCO etc.,
